Why the name Hubertus?
And since Mr. Holler comes from a family of hunters, it quickly became clear that the house should bear the name of St. Hubertus. The Hubertus legend says that he was converted while hunting by a magnificent stag with a crucifix between the antlers. Since then, Hubertus has been the patron saint of hunting, nature and the environment as well as the riflemen and rifle associations.
The refurbishment
Fritz Holler realized a long-cherished dream on the 27th of June 1980 by opening his own hotel and restaurant the Landgasthof Hubertus. It is a matter close to his heart for him and his team to keep developing the hotel and making it even more attractive for guests.
3 stars have adorned our house since 2019. Reason enough to give it a little facelift. Thus, in the first half of 2020, the entrance area, reception and breakfast room (including the Morgenansitz und Jägerstüberl) shone in new splendour. From now on, our motto is: tradition meets modernity.
Culinary highlights
Mr. Holler however, is not only owner of Hubertus, but also heart and soul of the house chef. In 1970 he completed his training at the Hotel Watzmann in Berchtesgaden. He then gained experience in various positions in Switzerland (in Flims , Davos, Arosa, St. Moritz, Bissone, Lenzerheide).
Enjoyment is very important to us. All of our dishes are predominantly prepared with products from the region and we attach particular importance to fresh, seasonal ingredients. If you love good food and traditional Bavarian dishes, you've come to the right place.
Over the years the Hubertus has become a fixture among holidaymakers and locals. The guests especially liked the venison specialties in the restaurant and at the breakfast buffet. These come from Holler's brother's traditional family butcher's shop, which is located right next to the hotel.
